Terms and Conditions of Paws & Relax Dog Grooming:
Health & Wellbeing
- You understand we will only groom your dog in a humane and kind way. The Animal Welfare Act, 2006 states that it is an offence to cause unnecessary suffering to an animal: - this includes ‘de-matting’ which is painful and detrimental to the welfare of your dog. You understand that if your dog is matted it will be shaved to reduce suffering.
- We will not be held liable or responsible for any underlying skin or health problems that grooming may expose.
- We will not clip dogs with a double coat unless there is a medical reason requiring it to be necessary.
- We will not groom pregnant dogs.
- Your dog is up to date with their Flea and Worming treatments. If fleas are found this will result in an additional charge.
- You are able to confirm that your dog is healthy and up to date with their vaccination schedule at the time of appointment.
- In the event of an emergency, you authorise the groomer to seek Veterinary attention at a suitable surgery whilst retaining responsibility for any costs incurred. We will of course attempt to contact you in this instance.
Temperament
- You are obliged to share any behaviour traits you are aware of in your dog. This includes as advised from any previous groomer.
- If your dog is very nervous, we will be patient and take our time with them, but if we feel they are becoming too stressed we will stop the groom and the client will pay for work completed to that point.
- If your dog attempts to bite, a muzzle may be used, or at the discretion of the groomer, treatment may stop, and the client will pay for all work completed to that point.
- Dogs as defined by the Dangerous Dog Act are not able be accepted for grooming.
Appointments
- Please ensure your dog has had a toilet break prior to the groom for comfort.
- Most grooms take between 1-3 hours or more, depending on the size and temperament of the dog and its coat condition. You will be advised a time to collect your dog and request you arrive promptly as boarding facilities are not available due to 1:1 working. Please do not to return to the salon before this time, as your presence may distract your pet during the finishing stage of their groom.
Pricing, Cancellations and Missed Appointments.
- Starting prices are used as a guideline and based on a regular grooming schedule and whose coats are maintained between grooms. Final prices are dependent on a variety of factors including coat condition, temperament, style chosen, and time taken. Additional costs may occur.
- If you cancel your appointment or don’t show up without informing us, fees will be charged as follows;
- 48 hours or more – no charge
- Less than 48 hours’ notice – 25% of the groom price.
- Less than 24 hours’ notice – 50% of the groom price
- Less than 12 hours’ notice or no shows – Full price of the groom.
GDPR
- You understand that the personal information you have provide is only used in order for us is to provide the requested grooming services. It will be stored securely and not shared with any third parties unless requested by law.
- You have the right to request and review any of your personal information held.
- You have the right to opt in or out of photographs/ names being used on Social Media platforms and for marketing purposes.
